WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS & DATES

What to do After Your Child is Diagnosed with ASD

This seminar is designed for families who have children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) that are interested in learning about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services.

ABA has been endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General as the most meaningful and effective treatment for autism. However, it can be difficult to navigate the process of autism services. Autism Learning Partners (ALP) understands that after receiving a diagnosis of autism, understanding the next steps for your child can be overwhelming.

This workshop is designed to break down the process into small steps to best explain what ABA is and what ABA services are going to look like for your family.

While childcare will not be provided, children are welcome to attend.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) – This seminar will teach individuals the foundations of ABA and some best practice strategies based on ABA that can be used with individuals with disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This seminar goes into detail about how we can change behavior by increasing appropriate/desired behavior and decreasing challenging behaviors. By the end of this seminar, attendees should be able to identify the principles of ABA, have an understanding of how the environment affects behavior, and be able to identify the major functions or reasons why a challenging behavior may be occurring.
