Sharla Kliebenstein has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for over a decade, supporting children and families across a variety of home, school, clinic, and community settings. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and her Master of Arts in Professional Behavior Analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about developing meaningful, individualized treatment plans while mentoring clinicians to provide high-quality, compassionate care.
Sharla was drawn to the field of ABA because of the opportunity to create meaningful, lasting change in the lives of children and their families. She believes that every child has unique strengths and potential, and she is passionate about helping families build practical skills that improve independence, communication, and overall quality of life.
As Associate Clinical Director for the North County San Diego Region, Sharla’s mission is to foster a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth. She is committed to supporting both families and clinical teams through evidence-based practices, strong mentorship, and compassionate leadership, ensuring every client receives individualized care that empowers them to reach their fullest potential.

Insurance companies will authorize Applied Behavior Analysis services when a child has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). If your child does not have a diagnosis of ASD, you can choose to pay for services privately.
What are the next steps now that my child has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder?
If your child has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, our team is here to support your family every step of the way. Should you choose to pursue Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, we’ll help you navigate the approval process, starting with a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), which identifies the reasons behind your child’s behaviors and lays the foundation for a personalized treatment plan.
Can my BT drive my child around, if needed?
No. Your Behavior Technician can accompany your family for a clinically recommended trip in a family vehicle. BTs are prohibited from driving the child in any vehicle, even if a parent or guardian is present in the car.
