    Charlotte FAQs

    • How long does the diagnostic process take?

Once the referral and insurance verification is obtained, the evaluation process typically takes 1-2 weeks.

    • Does my child need an autism diagnosis to get ABA services?

Insurance companies will authorize Applied Behavior Analysis services when a child has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). If your child does not have a diagnosis of ASD, you can choose to pay for services privately.

    • What are the next steps now that my child has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder?

If your child is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, our team will work with your family to secure Applied Behavior Analysis services. We will assist your family in getting approval for a Functional Behavior Assessment. This includes an assessment evaluating the function of your child’s behavior, a first step in developing a comprehensive behavioral treatment program.

    • Can my BT drive my child around, if needed?

No. Your Behavior Technician can accompany your family for a clinically recommended trip in a family vehicle. BTs are prohibited from driving the child in any vehicle, even if a parent or guardian is present in the car.
