In 2000, Children’s Learning Connection (CLC) founded the first Interdisciplinary ABA program in Orange County, CA. Today, their passion for quality care and the interdisciplinary treatment model has built three thriving clinics serving the Orange County area. Hundreds of families rely on CLC for in-home ABA and clinic-based speech, occupational, and physical therapy. In addition, CLC teams are proud to offer specialized Infant Programs and Social Skill Groups.
As a specialized centre for children with exceptionalities, CLC provides home, centre and community based interdisciplinary interventions for children birth through adolescence:
Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA Therapy, is the most widely researched and scientifically validated intervention for Autism. It’s widely accepted among health care professionals and is commonly used in schools and treatment clinics. ABA therapy teaches skills while reducing problematic behaviors, and as the child progresses, the program adapts to help improve his or her quality of life.
ABA interventions typically revolve around the family’s daily routines, so each child can develop language and social skills within the right play activities and natural settings. Parent participation is vital to success, so CLC experts will train them in techniques and strategies related to their child’s program.
Other services related to ABA include Early Intensive Behavior Intervention (applies to preschool and young children), pivotal response training (PRT), discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Verbal Behavior approach.
Research shows that early intervention services can greatly improve a child’s development. Early intervention applies to children beginning in preschool and young children. These services can help with using language to communicate effectively, developing social skills that enable friendships and positive interactions with others, and help to decrease behavioral issues. It is extremely important to talk to your doctor as soon as possible if you think your child may have autism or another developmental issue.
