Understanding Challenging Behaviors of Individuals with Autism
This workshop is designed for families who have children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other related disorders who would like further insight into responding to challenging behavior.
The presentation will aim to support families to better understand the thinking patterns, social perspectives, and socioemotional qualities of children with ASD. The presentation will emphasize individual rights, freedom of expression, and how that expression is different for individuals diagnosed with ASD.
The presentation will address how the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) allows us to objectively assess, understand, and use a positive behavior approach when responding to challenging behavior.

This seminar is designed for families with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other related disorders who would like to learn more about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
The presentation will aim to support families in better understanding ABA, ASD, how behavioral strategies are used to improve behavior, teach communication, social, play, and self-care skills, and how to navigate behavioral services.
